confessed hope in Christ at an early age and went to school in Memphis Tennessee. Upon
graduating from Lemoyne College, the young featherweight boxer moved to the Pacific
Northwest.
After meeting in the choir at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church of Seattle WA, Andy married
Gussie McGee originally from Oklahoma. From this marriage of 51 years, Andy became Dad to
his late son Lee Anderson and Poppy to his daughter and namesake Andee Anderson. Later he
became Grandpa to his grandson, Lee Anthony Davon Anderson.
After over 30 years, Andy retired from Boeing as a data processor. Not one to sit for long, Andy
became a security guard at Kenmore Bowling Lanes. He also did league bowling and
tournaments where he was called The Lefty due to his buttery smooth, left handed curveball. At
the lanes you could find him by his hearty laugh and smile so big his eyes would disappear.
Andy was the most laid back, easy going man who, without hesitation, shared selfless acts of
kindness with friends and strangers alike. You might have spotted him driving very, very slowly
in his Cadillac or Honda while listening to Nat King Cole and smoking his pipe. Always smoking
his pipe and often wearing high waters, a hat and plaid.
As the biggest fan of his children and grandson, he was ever present on the sidelines for
football, basketball, soccer and track. Andy also loved peanut butter cookies, watching a good
story, puttering in the yard and eating waffles at The Pancake Haus.
Andy was at home on hospice care stemming from end stage illnesses. When he passed in the
early hours of March 11, 2021, he was in his Seattle Washington home of 46 years surrounded
by family and God's love.
As he would often shake up the end of a Coca Cola, Starbucks mocha or strawberry shake,
Andy also blessed us with every last drop of life he had to give. We are impressed with his life,
proud of his fight and pleased for his well deserved rest.
