Steep mountains plunge into the sea forming a fjord. At the end of the fjord is a town called Andalesnes where the valley starts and the mountains rise. She grew up on a farm a few miles up the valley along the mountains, with a glacier in the backyard. After the war, with a yearning for adventure she traveled to America.
In Seattle at the Son's of Norway dance she met her husband Leiv. They settled in Bothell where they were great partners and worked well together running their successful home building business.
Mom learned to be a hard worker from the farm, and continued a very active life, running the family business, raising us kids, being a gracious host, and being a great cook. Her home always seemed like the meeting place for family and friends. Football games, Easter egg hunts, Holidays and Birthdays, she would make all the events special. She loved the excitement of a full house for these events especially when she could hang out with the grandkids. The night before her passing a few of us came to visit her. We were by her side reading collected writings of fond memories conveying our love for her. We raised our glasses toasting her with Aquavit (the Norwegian "Water of Life").
You are forever in our hearts. Thank you for all that you were.
Agnes is survived by Carol, Lars , Svein, Kris, Annika, Isabella, Sabrina, Julia, and Paul, Beret, and Liv
