Martin James Murphy, Jr. (57) of Seagoville went to be with the Lord September 20, 2016 in Forney, Texas. He was born October 3, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Martin James and Betty (Grimes) Murphy. Marty was a graduate of South Garland High School. He worked for his family’s business Big D Appliance Service as an Appliance Repair Specialist. Marty was a family man, he never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. He enjoyed hunting. Marty’s greatest passion besides his family was the girls’ basketball association, Texas Fire, which he founded, directed, and coached for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin James Murphy, Sr., loving wife Lisa Murphy, and daughter Rachael Murphy.
Marty leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Ashley Williams and husband Wade; granddaughter, Sawyer Williams; two grandsons, Jesse and Wyatt Williams; mother Betty Murphy, and three sisters Terri Lloyd, Nancy Wallace, and Kay Murphy; and a host of other family and friends. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Marty Murphy.
