Albert Wesley Roberts Jr.

Albert Wesley Roberts Jr was born at home in Kleberg, TX on January 13, 1951 to Betty Jo (Berry) Roberts and Albert Wesley Roberts Sr. He passed on from this world to Heaven on April 26, 2022 to reunite with his son Tony Brian Roberts and his brother Allan Wayne Roberts who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jo (Dalrymple) Roberts, his parents, Betty and Albert Roberts Sr, his daughter Connie Giles and her husband Michael Giles with their daughters Sarah Kate Dorsey, Grace Giles, Catrina Giles and Cynthia Giles. Stepson Rick Dowdy and his wife Josette Dowdy children Emily, Landon, Charlie, Rori and Konnor. He is also survived by his brother Allan's children Austin Roberts and Lindsey Roberts, his sister Lynda Gail Williams, her daughter Katie Suire with husband Daniel Suire and children Justin Rawlingson and Brittany Rawlingson as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Albert was a 1970 graduate of Seagoville High School who went on to work and retire at age 49 from the City of Dallas Water Department where he received several awards for his service and accomplishments. He was not afraid of hard work and often worked a second job to support his family, save for the a future, and take his family on vacations. He often had his children help him at the Texaco station where he taught them the importance of customer service, stocking shelves and how to count back change. Albert instilled in his children the importance of being honest, generous, and dependable.

In his younger years he enjoyed playing football, racing, boating, fishing, building model ships, and woodworking. He and friends once combined all of these hobbies together by building a watercraft for a race down the Trinity River. He enjoyed camping with his family at Possum Kingdom Lake as well as traveling on the West Coast and in the Rockies. In his later years he enjoyed watching football, spending time on the porch with his wife Barbara and their dog Shadow, visiting with his parents, working on the tractor, and playing with his many grandchildren in the yard. Albert enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life such as growing tomatoes and fig trees.

Albert had a strong bond with his family and his roots, living near his parents most of his life. He spent his last hours reminding his loved ones of how much he loved them and that he was a happy man. He said, "I'm happy, If I die today, I'm happy."

A memorial service for Albert will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 South Highway 175, Seagoville, Texas.
