Yvonne I Carney

Yvonne Irene Carne, 85, of Scottsdale passed away June 2, 2015 at the McDowell Village Retirement community. She was born in Lake Andes, SD to Irene Holden & Claude Lokken. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1947, received her Bachelors from ASU in 1962 and Masters in 1968. Yvonne was a retired Elementary School teacher for many years in the Madison School District. She was involved and a member of the Assistance League of Phoenix, Eastern Star, PEO AZ Chapter, & DAR. Yvonne and her husband John founded the Who's Who Married Association in 1980. They traveled extensively all over the world which qualified them to be a member of The International Circumnavigator Club, an organization comprised of people who have traveled around the world in one trip. Yvonne is survived by three children: Ted DeCorte (Christine), Michelle Irby (Pat) and Jeannette Billings, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:30 PM, Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale. Viewing will be at 1:00 PM. Interment Green Acres Cemetery.
