She grew up in Lafayette, IN and attended Jefferson High School. She pursued a long and passionate career in dental hygiene and was known for her brilliant smile.
She was the life of any party; the first one to dance or start a contest, her most notable favorites were a watermelon seed spitting contest or “how many marshmallows can you fit in your mouth.” You’d often find her in costume or with a tiara - she truly was a ray of sunshine in the lives of so many.
Her life was spent over many states and ultimately she landed in Arizona, where she helped to care for her grandchildren - a role she cherished. Through her travels, she lived an active life, filled with hiking, camping, skiing, and she particularly loved the beach.
She touched the lives of countless individuals who were impacted by her infectious laugh and kind loving heart, including soccer players as a proud soccer mom and coach, any patient lucky enough to sit in her dental chair, the participants of her Zumba classes, and her church community.
She was a breast cancer survivor and dedicated her life to health and wellness. She was a supporter of the autism community and an integral part of her grandson’s growth and development and promotion of those on the spectrum.
Suzie was a devout Christian with a strong faith in God. She was a beloved active member of Trinity Church in Scottsdale. We know she is laughing, singing and partying in Heaven with her parents, brother Ted, and her granddaughter, Olivia.
She is survived by her loving husband Kim Mitchell, children Joe (Katie) Mitchell, Natalie (Terry) Runyan, and Ericka McLaughlin. She was a beloved Gigi to Lola, Logan, Arianna, Brayden, Leo and Luc.
