Dear Norma and all the Martinez family my condolences for your loss may God grant you Peace and Comfort during this time of sorrow. I grew up in the St Mark's "hood". Spent many days and some nights at the Martinez house during that time. From grade school thru college. Have many fond memories from those days. Here's one about Patrick. Ioved being over there on SUPER BOWL SUNDAY,when the Steelers played the Cowboys. Pat liked the Steelers and I liked the Cowboys. Steelers always won . Patrick loved to talk alot of "smack" and he was good at it. He not only "ragged" me about it during the game but for weeks after hahaha 😂. May God Bless you all. Your friend Always. Patrick Lee Martinez is his birth name, but I knew him as Youngblood "P-Funk".  Pat had swag, he was born COOL, so cool that he was not one to get upset about anything.  He played some awesome basketball and was great at making you feel at ease before he made his move on you.  More than anything, Pat was an amazing human being! I am honored to have had the opportunity to call him my "brother." 

His signature mark is wearing his long black coat during the winters, he was the ultimate COOLNESS! My condolences to his family and God Bless.  Missing you!

We saw Patrick a lot more at family gatherings and around St. Mark's Church when we were young and our folks were still around.  I knew Patrick as a good man even though our lives were busy growing up.  I regret we could not have spent more time together.  Our sincere condolences to the family and for the greater glory of God may he rest in peace.  We love our family.
