Olive Lee Smith

Olive Lee (Mackey) Smith, age 92, went to meet her Lord on November 7, 2015, after a brief stay at the Hospice of the Valley wing of Friendship Village Care Center. Olive Lee was born in Shinnston, West VA, the daughter of Linzey and Stella (Sandy) Mackey. Olive Lee married Charles Elden Smith of Garrettsville, OH on June 17, 1944, just before he was drafted into the Navy. Olive Lee lovingly cared for her family, cooking, baking, sewing clothes, quilting bedspreads and pillows, and making stuffed animals. Olive Lee’s parents, two sisters, two brothers, and husband Charles predeceased her in death. Olive Lee is survived by her youngest brother, Wayne Alden Mackey of Ohio, daughter Cheryl (Smith) Edwards and husband William Edwards of Buckeye; and son Warren Smith and wife Patricia (Young) Smith of Tempe, three grand daughters, and six great grand children. The Memorial service will be held at the Green Acres Mortuary Chapel, 401 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257 on Wednesday Nov. 11th at: 1:00 pm.
