I cherish all the times we shared. Football games, going to see Cliff Stout, and Holidays. I am so grateful for all the love and care you showed for my mother, your Aunt Jean. Weekly phone calls, sports, Ohio state and so much more. I hadn’t been able to get a hold of you in quite sometime so went looking on the internet and found this. You are so special to my mother and I. Please tell her hello and I love her. 
So grateful for you and the times we have shared.

Dear Jim,  

We will miss you.  I remember how kind you were when you showed Carolyn and I around Las Vegas.  

I also remember our cruise to Alaska with Tom and my siblings.  The high point of this trip was at Haiku Lodge where we all saw you leading a bear out of the woods.  We were all worried because you didn’t seem to know that you had a bear right behind you.  Thankfully, Lucille, the bear, was more interested in the remainder of the salmon in the barbecue pit.

I remember Jim’s 500 race day phone calls telling me “It’s raining in the backstretch” (A PA announcement no race fan wants to hear on race day) will be missed.  It was like if I say it now it won’t happen. Thanks to Tom we got to see many races together.  Now your seat will be in a different grandstand.  Jim you will be missed! Jim I am not sending your flowers today but I can send you some fond memories.  We were both born in 1943 and the middle child of our families.  You grew up in Wellsville Ohio along the banks of the Ohio River.  We use to lament on the woes of being the middle child and how overlooked we sometimes felt.  But we laughed a lot.  You loved people and the extrovert of your family.  You went to the seminary for awhile right out of the 8th grade.  You left there just in time to be drafted and head to Vietnam.  You served your time, made new friends and discovered a life outside the walls of the seminary.  You returned to the US and got your degree at Youngstown State University and earned your CPA.  You worked in the banking industry with the good old boys ending your banking days in East Liverpool.  
You took me to NY on a business trip.  You attended meeting and I played.  It was my first trip to NY.  We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in a huge room.  We flew into NY on a Saturday, St Patrick's Day. We watched the parade for about 2 hours and then we walked to Time Square because you wanted to introduce me to NY.   That day we saw the parade, visited Time Square, saw a matinee play, went to dinner, walked to the Empire State Building and yes went to the top.  Walking back to the hotel we talked and laughed about our day as we cut through Grand Central Station.  The next day we went to mass at St Patrick's Cathedral and then walked to Battery Park and caught the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.  There we went up to crown despite your initial grumbling.   I remember our occasional walks as kids to your Wellsville Dairy Queen.  I remember our Indy 500 days and the laughter and fun we shared with our families.  You left Ohio and headed to LV, then to AZ.  Life presented obstacles but you endured.  Thanks for being such a great cousin!  Put a good word in for all your cousins and siblings.
