Helen Summar-Rosen, 85, passed peacefully in Scottsdale, Arizona, on August 31, 2013. She was born on December 6, 1927, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to loving parents Jack and Rose Grunstein. She married Stan Rosen on September 7, 2007, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Helen's passion was art and she followed her heart throughout her life. After she received a degree in Art Education from NYU, she started teaching for the Public City Schools in Newark, New Jersey. After raising her family, and moving to Arizona, Helen became smitten with the West and opened the Signature Gallery in Old Town Scottsdale specializing in Western Art, Crafts, and bronzes. Some of her work can be found in Las Vegas casinos and some was donated to the Phippen Western Museum in Prescott, Arizona. She also owned a framing company used for framing art work in her gallery. She is preceded by her beloved grandson Paul Lenkowsky Jr., August 2013. She is survived by her beloved husband Stan Rosen of Scottsdale, Arizona; children Paul Lenkowsky Sr. and his significant other Sandy Lenkowsky of Bullhead City; Robin Rudin (Scott Rudin), of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren Diane Lenkowsky, of Oregon; Melissa Rudin of Scottsdale, Arizona; Brett Rudin of Scottsdale, Arizona. We gratefully thank the staff and professionals at the Special Care Unit for the kind and caring support they offered Helen and our family throughout her stay.
