Bill was born in rural Oregon, was known in high school as a great wrestler and even tried breaking broncos as a summer job. Quick with a story or a smile, Bill was loved every where he went. He married Janice Scott, had 2 kids (Sean and Kristine) before that chapter of his life closed.
He started his next chapter in sunny Arizona, working construction. He realized quickly that he wasn’t “too good at working for anybody else.” Over the course of his life he’s owned two different businesses as a general contractor and built much of the Phoenix Valley, both residential and commercial jobs. At one point, Bill and his then life partner Lois employed many people, worked in several states and ventured into development and corporate contracts. He was always happiest on the job site but in later years was mostly the back office guy. A loyal friend, Bill seemed to always see the best in those around him, and be quick to offer help. Bill had remarried a few times but later found his forever mate in Marti Thompson. Marti brought into his life a whole extended family and he absolutely loved being grandpa. They were married almost twenty years before Marti’s death in May of 2019. The devastation of this loss and his failed cancer treatment combined to end Bill’s health soon after. He left us 12/23/2019, refusing to spend Christmas without Marti.
We celebrate Bill’s life at his favorite bar January 25th at 3pm. Please join us as we tell stories, eat Mexican food, and drink beer, in honor of Bill. Pub Rock, 8005 E Roosevelt St, Scottsdale, AZ 85257
