Terry was born January 6, 1988, in Torrington WY to Calvin and Peggy Hill. He came into this world just as fast as he left it. He arrived two and a half weeks early and almost before getting to the hospital. He attended Morrill Public Schools, graduating in 2007. Terry helped out on the family farm from a young age. He did some seasonal work in the agriculture industry before moving on to Heritage Irrigation and Nabors Drilling in the oilfield industry in North Dakota. After finishing in the oil industry, he went to work for the Village of Lyman for a time, and then Deines Irrigation until VistaBeam recruited him and this is where he found his passion for climbing towers.
Terry was married to Cassidy Kilpatrick from 2014 – 2019 and together they had two wonderful children, Hunter and Aria.
Terry met his forever love, Katie Mueller in 2020. The couple welcomed a daughter, Eddisyn, to their family in 2022 and are expecting a second child in November of this year. Terry and Katie enjoyed spending every moment they could together no matter the activity. They especially enjoyed golfing together.
Terry was very active in his community. He coached Federated Wrestling in Morrill, Biddy soccer for the YMCA, and Carpenter Center flag football. He was always involved in Lyman Days and served on the Lyman Volunteer Fire Department for several years.
Terry was very competitive in everything he did. He raced quads in the TSDR and SDMA circuits for 16 years and was known for his signature mohawk helmet. Number 124 often gifted younger riders the mohawks from his helmet. He also raced snowmobiles for two seasons, and was a permanent fixture at the Rubber Check Races for 22 years.
Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors! You could always find him on the lake or out hunting with his dearest friend, Dan Cutforth. He enjoyed BBQs and loved playing corn hole. He was passionate about his Huskers and no matter where he was during the game, he was cheering them on. Terry was very skilled and could figure out how to fix just about anything, no matter what it took. He loved being around people and always had a smile on his face.
Terry’s children were his pride and joy, he was an amazing father to all four of them. He would do anything for anyone, and he could always be found cheering on family members in all their endeavors.
