Teresa Garza, age 75, of Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away at her home in Scottsbluff, surrounded by family on June 15, 2023. A private family service has been held, and cremation has taken place per her wishes. Fond memories and messages of sympathy may be shared at www.dugankramer.com for the family.
Teresa was born on May 11, 1948, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Carlos Hernandez and Margarita Vargas. She migrated from Mexico to the United States in the late 60s and moved to Nebraska in 1978. A diligent worker, she held many positions over the years, including for MidWic, working as a cook for Bailey’s Town and Country Café, and then running her own in home day care for over 20 years. In 2011, she retired, giving her more time for all of the things she enjoyed, such as traveling and her tele-novels. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, as her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. As a very private person, to know Teresa well was to have a truly kindred connection for life.
Survivors include her four children, Martin Vargas, Hector Garza, Margarita Garza, and Diana Garza Reinholt; grandchildren, Alex Vargas, Adrienne Vargas, Aragon Carlos Garza, Dorian Bradley Garza, Sadishia Blanco, Isaiah Blanco, Elijah Blanco, Wesley Wilkerson, Avery Gallegos, and Adonis, Telees, and Sloan Reinholt; and great-grandchildren, Adan Vargas Rivera, Adric Vargas, Aylah Evans, Adrielle Evans, and Khalia Havranek.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
