Raymond V. Wilson, 82 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away onWednesday, May 31, 2006 at his home. His funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Haverick officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery with military honors by the Nebraska National Guard. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Raymond was born in Morris, Minnesota on October 10, 1923 to Vernard Arthur and Marie Olivia (Aanerud) Wilson. He went to school in Morris, Minn. He worked in a barber shop making two dollars a week in order to attend school. He enlisted in the United States Army at Ft. Snelling, Minn on March 3, 1943. He was wounded in France and received the purple heart while serving in WWII. He was honorably discharged at Camp McCoy, Wis. on March 19, 1946. He met and married Vivian Verla Crocker in Scottsbluff in 1946 and they lived in the Scottsbluff, NE. area until his death. One child was born to this union. He worked for United Telephone Company for the West, later Sprint, and retired after 36 years there. He was well known in the Scottsbluff area. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Vivian (Crocker) Wilson; daughter and son-in-law Carol (Wilson) Palmer and LeRoy L. Palmer of Morrill; six grandchildren Matthew Palmer (Michelle) of Clovis, CA, Michael Palmer (Kristy) of Linn Creeek, MO, William Palmer of Morrill, NE., Arvon Palmer (Brigette) of Gering, NE., Vincent Palmer of Lakewood, WA., and Ivy Palmer of Mitchell, NE.; seven great grandchildren Noah and Logan Palmer of Clovis, CA, Cody and Frehya Palmer of Linn Creek, MO., Raymond and Julian Palmer of Gering, NE., and Brianna Palmer of Mitchell, NE., sister Ellen Dornquast of Morris, Minn., and several nieces, nephews and cousins/ He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Viola Asmus and Joyce Yaritz.
