He was born to Forrest and Patricia Kelsey in New Britain, CT, in 1947.
Growing up in CT, he met and married his high school love, Dianne (Welch) Kelsey before deployment to Vietnam to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Returning to Haddam to raise his family, he worked tirelessly in construction, mechanics, and teaching CDL at Eversource Power Company. Finally following his dreams and children, he moved west to Montana in 1992. He shared a love for horses with his daughter that continued on well past her competition years. He also schooled himself in horse massage, horse showing and boarding, and continued a career in mechanics for John Deere on heavy equipment until his retirement. After retirement he made Nebraska his home.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dianne, of Bayard; His daughter, Danielle (Ross) Whitney of Bayard; Son, Glenn Kelsey of Craig Colorado; Brother, Michael Kelsey of Falmouth, MA: as well as his beloved grandchildren, Colby Whitney, Tyler Kelsey, Jenna Kelsey, Leota Kelsey, Rebekah Kelsey, and Cass Kelsey, with one great-granddaughter, Serenity; a niece, Penelope; and nephew, Forrest.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest; mother, Patricia; and brother, Tony.
