Vincent Charles Bucca

The outdoors were Vinny’s happy place, which led to his career in forestry management as a self-employed Natural Resource Manager. You could often find him there with a chainsaw in hand practicing and educating others in the concepts of sustainable forestry management. Vinny’s fondest memories as a child were spending time on his grandparents’ farm in western MA. This experience influenced his decision to rehabilitate and farm the Appleton Field in Scituate, raising pigs and vegetables. With his time and effort, Vinny was able to donate hundreds of pounds of produce to local farms and organizations in need, supporting and promoting the mission of community and local agriculture. True to his spirit, Vinny also sponsored the Right to Farm article in Norwell, which was successfully passed as a bylaw for the benefit of the citizens of Norwell.

Vinny also had a love for the Boston Harbor Islands. This led him to found the Friends of Fort Warren and Fort Andrews on Georges and Peddock’s Island, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and beautification of those historic sites. His volunteerism and project coordination supported the goals and objectives of the then Metropolitan District Commission.

He is survived by his wife Denise Sarno-Bucca and beloved daughter Michaela Rose Bucca. As well as many in-laws, nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and friends.

In keeping with Vinny’s wishes, there will be no services. To honor Vinny’s memory and legacy, plant a native tree and remember, “The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn."
