Formerly of St. Cloud, Minnesota Bob passed away peacefully on the evening of March 23, 2023 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Head) St. Onge, with whom he was married to for nearly 38 years and spent more than 50 years of his life with.
One of Bob's first jobs was at Coburns grocery store, where he worked to save for college. It was there that he met his wife Marilyn, who worked in the floral department. He then attended St. Cloud State University and began his career in Construction Management. For the past 30 years he owned and operated St. Onge Building and Renovations based in Scituate, where he lived for 35 years.
He was a devoted father of Zachary Stephen St. Onge and his wife Elizabeth of Marshfield, MA and Homer Jordan St. Onge and his wife Katie of Walden, VT. Also, a cherished and proud “Bob Bob” to his most precious granddaughter Piper Jane of Jordan and Katie.
Bob is also survived by his stepson Dane Larson and stepdaughter Patrice Williams, as well as their children Nikkita, Ieysha, Sierra, Adalia, Rowan and Khalil, all of whom were deeply loved.
Also, the loving brother of the late Homer Joseph St. Onge, and survived by Elizabeth St. Onge of Oklahoma, Markie Rausch and her husband Jim of Texas, Thomas St. Onge and wife Rita of Washington, Isabelle St. Onge of New Mexico, Tracy St. Onge-May and her husband Ethan of Maine, Nita St. Onge of Texas, Margaret St. Onge of Texas, Jullie St. Onge and her husband Bob of Texas, Richard St. Onge and his wife Marie of Texas. Bob's family meant the world to him and they each shared their own special bond and fond memories. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and was an “East Coast Dad” to Rita & Jerine.
Able to find something in common with nearly everyone he met, Bob had countless friends, colleagues and co-workers. He enjoyed Scituate to the fullest fishing, boating, clamming, lobstering and especially whale watching at every opportunity.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, April 2nd from 3-7 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. Funeral Mass on Monday April 3rd at 10AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation for the benefit of Stellwagen Bank or The ALS Foundation.
