Dr. DiTullio, a surgeon, former Chief of Surgery, and chairman of the Department of Surgery has served on the Quincy Medical Center staff since 1962 and was the recipient of the Frederick C. Dolgin, MD award in 2008. He was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons, and the Roswell Park Surgical Society. Dr. DiTullio was a member of the MA Medical Societys, the American Medical Association and the Norfolk South Medical Society. A graduate of Boston College and Georgetown University School of Medicine, he spent a year of training at Quincy City Hospital, 5 years as resident-in-surgery at Boston City Hospital, and his final year Fellowship in Cancer Surgery at Roswell Park Memorial Institute, NY where he was involved in two publications. In addition to Quincy Medical Center, Dr. DiTullio was on staff at Carney and Cardinal Cushing Hospitals, and Milton Medical Center. He was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine since 2006.
Robert is survived by two children; Mark of Manchester, NH and Michele Skolnick and her husband Robert of Cohasset, five grandchildren; John, Ronan, and Aine DiTullio, Chandler and Andrew Skolnick, two sisters; Pauline Monaco of Cohasset and Claire Marchionne of Duxbury.
Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church, Cohasset at 10AM. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset. Visiting hours will be held at Richardson-Gaffey on Friday from 3-7PM.
