Phillip R. Delano

Phillip graduated from Milton Academy and attended the Coast Guard Academy and Tufts University. He enlisted in the Aviation Cadet Pilot Academy in 1954, and served in the United States Air Force first stationed in Thule Greenland flying F89s and later as a Flight Instructor until his honorable discharge from the Air force in 1968 with the rank of Captain. After leaving the Air Force Phillip went to work as a pilot for United Airlines. He worked for United flying several types of planes until his retirement as Captain.

He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Karen Troland Delano. He also leaves his children, David and his wife Sandee Delano of Sandston, VA, Alex Delano of Aurora, CO, Drew Delano of Vancouver, WA and Lane Mabbett and his wife Susan of Milford, NH and grandchildren Kathlyn DeFreece, Jonathan and Jordan Delano, Matthew and Michael Delano, Noah Delano, David and Jeffrey Delano and Olivia and Parker Mabbett as well as three great grandchildren. Phillip was predeceased by his sons Kenneth Delano and Benjamin Mabbett.

A memorial service will be held at Second Parish Church, 685 Main St, Hingham, MA on Saturday, December 3 at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Second Parish Church Meeting
