Mary Jane Gould

Mary Jane Gould- Age 79, of Scituate, passed away on December 17, 2023. Born on May 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Liddell of Dedham MA. Loving wife of Harold (Harry) Gould. Beloved mother of Hal Gould, his wife Nancy of Scituate, Cara Gould of Dedham and Justin Gould, his wife Stephanie of Norwell. Cherished grandmother to Darren, Molly, Rachel and Sean. She is survived by her sister Kate Norton, her husband Mark of Marshfield and sister in law Nancy Liddell. Predeceased by her brothers Russell Liddell of Westwood and Bruce Liddell of Hull.

Jane grew up in Dedham attending Ursuline Academy and Boston College. She spent her summers in Hingham and spent her adult life helping run her father’s family business the Tower Day Camp. Jane taught in the Boston School System and at the Kennedy Memorial School for many years. She enjoyed her retirement by spending time in Florida and Maine, golfing, and volunteering. Jane developed many deep relationships with a vast network of friends from high school, college, her church, teaching, golf, and her extended family. She had a special talent of making each relationship special. She made everyone feel like they were her favorite.

There is nothing Jane cherished more than spending time with her kids, grandchildren, and relatives. Jane was a wonderful wife to Harry for 54 years. Her children feel blessed to have had a mother that always provided them with unconditional love, and prudent guidance. Jane was very social and loving. She would create time, events, and activities to be surrounded by those she loved.

A visitation will be held on Thursday December 21, 2023 from 3pm-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday December 22, 2023 at 10am at Glastonbury Abbey - 16 Hull Street Hingham, Massachusetts 02043.
