Laura May Brown Houghton

HOUGHTON, Laura May (Brown)- Age 97, lifelong native of Scituate, passed away on June 21, 2023. Born on May 13, 1926 at home in Scituate, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Marian (Fitts) Brown. She was a graduate of Scituate High School class of 1944 where she organized many, many class reunions. Laura was a Scituate Public Schools crossing guard for over 25 years and a member of the First Trinitarian Congregational Church in Scituate for over 80 years.

Laura was married to the late Frederick Houghton for 58 years. She is survived by her sons Thomas F. Houghton, his wife Donna of Scituate and Frederick R. Houghton of Plymouth. She was predeceased by her daughter Marian Frances Brown. She was the loving grandmother of Eric A. Houghton, his wife Carla of Hanover, Andrew T. Houghton, his wife Alexa of Scituate, David T. Brown of Weymouth, Joshua T. Houghton, his wife Jennifer of Middleboro, Chad M. Houghton, his wife Danielle of NY. Beloved great grandmother to Julia, Emily, Benjamin, Scarlett, Jackson, Jameson, Matthew Thomas and Juliana. She was the sister of the late Cora Dolan, Julia F. Hoffman, John R. Brown. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday June 30, 2023 at 11am at First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate, MA. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Ln, Hingham, MA.
