Jennifer "Jenn" Hope Boyle, 42, of Humarock, Massachusetts, passed away on June 18th, 2024. She was surrounded by people who love her and passed away peacefully after a long, hard-fought battle with organ failure.
Jenn grew up on the beach in Humarock where she spent the summers as a child playing in the surf with her family and friends, skateboarding, reading, and enjoying live music. Not long after graduating early from the South Shore Charter School with high marks, she went on to nursing school at Labouré College of Healthcare where she earned her nursing degree. She then went on to attend the University of Southern New Hampshire where she earned her BSN degree.
Jenn was a loving, caring person who dedicated much of her professional career to helping the sick and less fortunate as a registered nurse at Pembroke hospital. Jenn’s generosity and ability to connect with people from all walks of life enabled her to make a lasting impact on the lives of the people that she treated and worked with. She would sometimes say it took a special kind of person to be effective in a mental institution and she had what it took. She will be missed dearly by her colleagues and patients.
People who had the pleasure of knowing Jenn would describe her as intelligent, strong willed, resilient, and a fiercely loyal friend. Even while fighting her illness in the hospital, she wanted people to feel welcome and comfortable, so she often ordered snacks or meals for her visitors. Jenn had an eclectic style that was all her own and never worried about what other people thought. She had a great sense of humor and had somehow refined the art of sarcasm, always eliciting a smile from the people around her. During her extended stay in the hospital, she made quick friends with many of the staff who would remark to family how impressed they were with her tenacity and will to fight against all odds.
Jenn will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her dear friend, Mark Eddy, her mother, Rosemary Boyle, her brother, Josh Boyle and his wife Amanda, her niece Cassidy, and her nephew, Ronan. Jenn was predeceased by her father, Joseph Boyle.
Jenn’s family will always be grateful to her good friends, Mindy and Erica, and her cousin Ed for the unwavering kindness and support that they showed to Jenn in her final days. You brought bright light where there was darkness for both Jenn and our family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 3-7 pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Meeting House Lane, Scituate.
