James “Jim” E. Watson of Scituate, MA, passed away at the age of 76 years old after prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife, Marsha; and his three children, Melissa of Kingston, MA, James of Scituate, MA and Emily of Marshfield, MA; and grandchildren, Charlotte, Elizabeth, and Alex. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Edward, and two brothers, Donald and Gordon. He is also survived by his 5 sisters, Betty-Ann, Diane, Norma, Shirley, and Dorothy “Dotty”.
Jim was born on August 24, 1944 in Gould, Quebec. At the age of 2, he moved to Lexington, MA. He entered the Air force in 1963, and was stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he also worked as a short order cook at a bowling alley on the weekends. He was known in his family for his good short order cooking throughout his life. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Suffolk University and his MBA also at the same academic institution. He was devoted to his wife, Marsha whom he married in 1968. He devoted his time to working at State Street Bank and helping keeping the house running. After retiring from State Street Bank, he worked at the Christmas Tree Shops building their sample furniture, which he really enjoyed. He also worked at the YMCA in Hanover. He loved sports especially playing golf and taught his three children to play. However, they never took to the sport for very long! In his later years, he spent his time playing golf with friends, and traveling to various places including almost annual trips to Hawaii. A wake will be held on Sunday July 11th, 2021 from 12-2; followed by the funeral service at 2pm. A celebration of life will be held following the conclusion of the funeral at his home.
