Richard Joseph Romero

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Romero; son, Joseph (Dawn) Romero; grandchildren, Jacob Joseph Romero and Jordan Joseph Romero; nieces, Rosie Romero and Martina Romero; nephews, Rudy Romero and Rueben Romero and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Pedro Romero and brothers, Raymond (late Maria) Romero and Pete Romero.

Richard was born on July 17, 1932 in Corpus Christi, TX. He proudly served our country in the US Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8283 Chicago Heights, IL. On October 9, 1976 in Chicago, IL, Richard married the love of his life, Judith Shales and together they raised one son. He retired from Bell Fiber in South Holland, IL with 28 years of service.

Richard was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

Richard was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN. Richard's family encourages you to wear your favorite Cubs or Bears gear to celebrate his love for his Cubbies and Da' Bears.
