George A. Smith Jr.

George A. Smith Jr. 86 of Newmanstown, passed away at home on Friday, February 9, 2024. He was born in Lancaster on May 20, 1937, a son of the late George A. Sr. and Clara (Peterson) Smith. George was the husband of Sandra J. (Zartman) Smith to whom he was married to for 57 years. Mr. Smith was retired from High Steel Industries in Lancaster where he was a welder. He was a former member of Schaefferstown Fire Company and Lions Club. He enjoyed Bowling, Hunting, Fishing and Traveling especially Disney. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Schaefferstown active in Church Council, Choir and Sexton. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter: Andrea D. McAllister (Michael) of Newmanstown; two grandchildren: Ryan and Kayla McAllister; brother in law: Dale Zartman of Schaefferstown; three nephews: Dale Zartman Jr. (Brenda); David Zartman and Delmar Zartman(Nancy). A Memorial Service will be held in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1432 Heidelberg Ave. Schaefferstown, PA, 17088 on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
