It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Philip Allison currently of Charlestown, RI, on December 12, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born in Port Chester, NY on July 31, 1939 to Sydney and Nancy Allison. He was raised in Yonkers, where he fell in love with Harley Davidsons motorcycles, a passion he continued for most of his life. At the age of 20, he proudly joined the U.S. Army National Guard, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant until he was honorable discharged in 1965. During that time, he met and married the love of his life, Linda DiMauro. They moved to Tuckahoe with their 3 children, where they lived for 46 years. He became a member of the Eastchester Fire department, where he proudly served for 28 years. He has been known to say, “other than Linda, the Fire Department, was one of the best things that ever happened to me”. He also owned and operated P&L Windows, for over 30 years, his honesty and integrity left a lasting impression on customers.
Phil and his beloved wife Linda, relocated to Charlestown, RI permanently in September 2012, after enjoying many years of vacationing there. Soon after he became a resident, he went to work for Habitat for Humanity and delivered Meals on Wheels to those in need.
Philip is predeceased by Linda,and is survived by his children Nicholas and Chari Allison, Phyllis and Anthony Cesarini, and Lori Bugbee. He took great pride in his beautiful grandchildren, Alex (Greg), AJ ( Marisa), Michael, Sydney, Nicholas (Alyssa), Katie, Julian, Olivia, and Lily. This year he reached another milestone, by becoming a great grandfather to Savanna Marie Cesarini. He will always be remembered for his selflessness, honesty, and kindness.
A visitation for Philip will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winter Hill Rd, Tuckahoe, NY 10707.
