With sadness, we announce that Jane Creamer Daych passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, at the age of 95 1/2 , in Madison, CT. Jane was born in Bronxville, NY, on December 6, 1927, to Marie Elizabeth Watts (Babe) and Joseph J. Creamer. She was married to Herman C. Daych for 30 years. Jane is survived by her three daughters, Denise (Dennie) and her companion Peter Daupern of Stamford, CT, Dana Faulkner of Washington D.C, and Diane and her husband Joseph Havran, the best son-in-law ever, of Madison, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren James Edington Havran and Jacqueline Barrett Havran. In addition, she is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Sue (and Bill) Harrigan, Barry (and Mary), Jack (and Julie), Jim (and Helena), Tom, John (and Jeannie Longo), and Bobby Creamer, Louise Belhumeur and Ellen Sitron, and several great, and great, great nieces and nephews, and one great, great, great nephew, as well as numerous Hains step nieces and nephews, all of whom doted on their Aunt Jane. In addition to her husband and parents, Jane was predeceased by her siblings Gerard, John, Robert, and Martha as well as her devoted grandmother, Mary Veronica Delaney Watts (Nana), who raised her after her mother’s very early death. Also predeceasing her were her niece Ann Creamer Muller; her stepfamily, the Accles, including Elizabeth (Bessie), Eleanor, Bill and Elizabeth Hains; and her stepson Donald Lequire Daych.
Jane returned to college while she was raising her daughters in Scarsdale and had a long satisfying career as a social worker at Cardinal McCloskey Home in White Plains. She enjoyed the outdoors including playing tennis and even walking daily until the end. She was an outgoing, independent woman, and greatly enjoyed her neighbors and many friends while living at Fenimore Gardens in Mamaroneck and recently at The Hearth in Madison, CT.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, at 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM at Edward L. Bennett Funeral home 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winter Hill Rd, Tuckahoe, NY, with burial at First Calvary in Woodside, Queens.
