Ross Munro Cross

Cross, Ross Munro of Scarborough passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital, Toronto on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the age of 91. Ross was born in Bothwell, Ontario to John and Florence Cross, and was pre-deceased by his brothers Doug (Mary) and Murray (Grace). Ross married his high school sweetheart, Mary, and moved to Toronto in 1951. Born a farmer, he earned his electrician’s licence, practising in the trade until moving into management in the cosmetics industry. He was inventive and could build or fix just about anything. Married for 69 years, Ross loved his wife and family above all else. He will be forever loved in return by Mary, children Mary Ann (Paul), Larry (Janice) and Carolyn, and grandchildren Christopher and Andrew (Sarah) Leinonen and Jeffrey and Kylie (Ryan) Cross. He was truly loved by all who knew him, winning them over with his beautiful smile, kind and gentle manner, and sense of humour. Private funeral services will be held at the Church of St. Jude (Wexford), Scarborough on Thursday, November 26, at 10am with live-streaming at http://www.stjudewexford.ca/home/ . Interment following at Mount Carmel Cemetery near Watford, Ontario. COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated: • Permitted gathering sizes inside a building for funeral visitation and chapel services, will be up to 10 people (excluding funeral staff) while maintaining the six foot physical distancing rule. • Registrar’s Directive sets new restrictions for gatherings at cemeteries, effective Monday, November 23rd: Cemeteries attendance is a maximum of 10 people (not counting funeral staff) at all graveside services on cemetery property. • Further to the Registrar’s Guidance issued on June 15, 2020, wearing masks or face coverings is mandatory for all persons (funeral staff and attendees) inside all funeral establishments or any other indoor setting where a funeral or visitation is held.
