Lewis "Leo" O'Donnell

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Leo O’Donnell on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the age of 95. Leo passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Moira Campbell, devoted Father, Gaga, and Great-Grandad. Leo is survived by his children Anne-Marie, Philip, James, Leo (Justine) and Grandchildren Angela (Charlie); Kieran (Jenna); Kellan, Mairead and Great Grandchildren Hattie and Margot. He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Ellen O’Donnell, and siblings Margaret, James, Jane, Anne, Edward, John, Anthony, Grace, Mary and Bridget. Leo will be missed by his many Nieces and Nephews.

Leo was born in Donegal, Ireland. He came to Canada and worked in the Construction sector in varying roles. As a proud Irishman who volunteered tirelessly to promote Irish culture in our community, he led many successful cultural and fundraising events. He was a founding member of the Donegal Association of Canada, and a proud member and supporter of his cherished Glasgow Celtic Football Club.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Cardinal Ambrozic Houses of Providence who lovingly cared for Papa Lewis. We are forever grateful to Elizabeth, Devika, Leah, Nicole, and Judith.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 142 Markham Rd (Kingston Rd), Scarborough, ON M1M 2H9. Interment at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery.
