Sincere condolences to Marie, Michael and all the Maxwell and  Mele families on the passing of a wonderful lady, loved by everyone who knew her.

Jo was a lifelong friend of our family and particularly my Mum.  They kept in close contact all down the years with frequent letters and visits that were looked forward to by us all.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

I have such fond memories of Jo's visits to Ireland and of course our holidays in Canada. We were very lucky that despite the great distance in miles, we  saw so much of Jo growing up. She was a wonderful aunt, always interested in what was going on with her nieces and nephews. She remembered everything.
She will be very sadly missed. Rest in peace Jo.

Sincere condolences to Marie, Michael, Jay, Max, and Marcus on the passing of a wonderful mother and grandmother who was loved by everyone who knew her. 

Jo always had a gentle calmness combined with natural good humour and an instant wit in conversation. Her amazing and engaging memory for events and stories long past are now legend in our folklore. 

Jo remained interested in matters from “home” but was equally conversant with and knowledgeable of world affairs. She was alert and lucid to the end. 

Josie was and will continue to be our inspiration; she will be sadly missed.

My condolences Marie and Michael on the loss of such an inspirational Mother. Her kindness , wealth of knowledge and gentility was an inspiration to all.  We will all miss her greatly . Aunt Jo was a cheerful, witty, charming aunt.
She had no bad habits, and a raft of good ones. She found god and humour in life,  and left everyone she met smiling and feeling a little happier. That legacy of kindness in itself is enough, but she was also a rock for our mother Philomena, and we all loved her that much more for that. She will be missed. I can't not express how significant a role Jo played in my life.
Since our parents both  died young, I have relied on Jo to be a parent, a confident, a sister and a friend. When she immigrated to  Canada,  I came with her. Together we adopted a new country with new customs, and new challenges. Her faith, her spirit of adventure and her generosity in taking on the responsibility for a young sibling empowered and inspired me. I will miss her every day.
