I have known Astra for the longest time, since 1985 and we only grew closer with each passing year.  For the past few months and despite her illness, we spoke / face timed literally every day.  I was also blessed to have spent a beautiful weekend with Astra  as recently as  10th November 2023; we talked, laughed, heard mass together.  It was during this weekend,  Astra prepared me well for the the day when it would come and made me so strong.  Yet, I was not prepared at all when the day arrived; I was broken to pieces.  

Conrad, Julie, Sheldon, Logan, Sophie - those we love are never really gone.  Mum has a cherished place in our hearts where she will always belong and be remembered for the wonderful person she was, for the kindness she showed, for the love she shared and the happiness she brought in our lives. 

Mothers never really die, they continue to live in our hearts forever. I am confident that you all have many, many, countless memories Mum left behind - for you'll to make it through each day.

Mum touched many hearts, including mine.  I now have an Angel in Heaven, watching over me and praying for me.  I am very sad but I will always remember what Mum always told me that she is very happy and is returning to her Heavenly Father and this makes me happy!  I am sure the Heaven's gates were opened up to welcome our beloved Astra.  I also know she is very happy and rejoicing with joy.  RIP my Dearest Pal, I will miss you everyday, but I know you are watching over me.

To comfort you in your sorrow, please know that my heartfelt concerns and love are with you at this difficult time. 

Stay strong Conrad, Julie, Sheldon, enjoy your little ones and make Mum happy.  Needless to say she will always want you all to be happy!

My condolence to the family. A very special woman.  She is forever loved. Forever remembered.

ASTRA, You will always be in my Heart,  a person with immense positive energy. You my dear have always been a straight forward person, the one quality which at times would make you unpopular; however it was this very straight forwardness which I loved & admired the most. It takes guts my Sis to lived the life you lived........

Her heart was full of love & compassion.  She accepted all that Life offered her with a Smile. Her faith was to be admired which was tried & tested on several occasions, yet she stood steadfast.

Astra you always hid your  immense suffering & pain behind your laughter & smile, knowing well that  I could feel all of it as we shared a very special bond.  Each time I reached out to you at these moments I will never forget the Look in your Eyes as you would say "MY DARLING ITS ALL GOOD" - These words will ring in my ears for eternity.

Your Mother & My Sister was an amazing person.

Our hearts go out to you as you bid good-bye to your mum, here on earth.
Generous, loving, and striding through life with her heart on her sleeve,  Astra exemplified courage and faith. She never lost her ability to laugh and be joyful, despite all the many challenges she faced. She was a dear and wonderful friend and we were blessed to have her in our lives.

My sincerely condolences 

I have known Astra since 1985 as she was my neighbor in Abu Dhabi. She was always admired for her honesty and bold personality. We enjoyed being neighbors, celebrated the birth of Julie, and other milestones in each other’s lives. We continued our friendship when we both moved to Canada, and exchanged messages until very recently. Astra was thrilled to inform me of the arrival of her grand daughter, Sophie Jade. She noted that she had now seen the future of her family and was ready to return to her Heavenly Father and Bless her family from above. My dear Astra, God wanted to relieve you of your pain and didn’t want you to suffer any longer. 
May your sweet soul rest in the Peace of Christ my dear friend.

She always looked on the bright side of things, always positive no matter the wavering path. Her faith was steadfast and she will always be remembered as someone who took on the world with open arms, always cheerful, always hopeful and always full of patience and compassion. Dear Conrad, Julie and family,

Your mom and I served together as Eucharistic ministers at St. Lawrence.  She was a truly good person, both inside and out.  Whenever I asked her how she was, she always replied with that great big smile that she was doing OK.  I also watched her take such wonderful care of your dad throughout his illness.  They are  joined once again in Eternal Life.  May they both Rest In Peace.  Please know you are in my prayers.

Astra was a simple, honest soul who spoke her mind and heart full throttle. The courage required to live authentically like she did is admirable! I was blessed to have a front row seat leading up to her passing and witnessed her readiness to join her creator! It couldn’t come fast enough!
Astra, you have a permanent place in my heart. I miss you.

I am so saddened to hear of Astra’s passing.
We worked together many years ago.

It is a previlege to be one of Astra psw for 2 years. I m very blessed to know Astra, a very kind, caring, fair and educated , helpful and good mother. She was very optimistic and religious person. I thank God for I met her. We had shared a good memories laughter and so on. I loved hear astra talk, and straight forward. I have great respect for her, and her family. A beautiful and blessed family. Astra so proud and happy to show me her grand children especially the new born grand daughter Sophie. She loved all her children and grand children. I admire her immense faith and love for her family. 

I will continue to pray for Astra .. in my daily novena and divine mercy chaplet.

I will treasure the good memories and time spent with Astra.
