Vladimir Shirokov, 66, was born in Vyborg (former Soviet Union) into a military family. He lived most of his life in Pskov, Russia, the place he called home. He died early morning on January 2, 2013 at home in Savannah, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Tatyana and Alexander Shirokov. He was a loving husband to Larisa Shirokova and kind and gentle father to his daughters Dariya and Yekaterina. During his life he served in the military for 6 years, and then became a teacher and engineer until he retired at the age of 60. Less than 2 years ago he and his wife immigrated to the Unites States in hope of a new life and to join their older daughter and her family. He will be greatly missed by his faithful wife, Lara, his two daughters, one of which is in Russia, two grandkids in Savannah, GA, and three grandkids in Russia and many more relatives and friends that love him deeply. The Memorial Service for Vladimir will be held on Saturday, January 5th at Noon at AMC Building – directly across from the Savannah Christian Church Main Building (55 Al Henderson Blvd.)
