She was enriched with her culture and language. She was proud to have been blessed a large family whom included 4 First Nation Chiefs. Rose passed on her knowledge to numerous students young and old. She was retired from the Catholic Elementary School Board. She shared her knowledge of culture and language in the Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas and along the North shore. Rose loved to spend time with her family, camping, fishing, and cooking on Birch Island. Auntie Rosie always had coffee and tea on to offer us on our visits and could always put together a big pot of hot soup and scone for all to enjoy, she always had a story to share that brought lots of laughter to us all. Many times you could hear her and Derrick's love of country music in their home. Rose was a well respected Elder and language keeper in many communities such as Batchewana First Nation, Garden River, Thessalon First Nation, Baraga, Michigan, Peshawbe Town, Petoskey, Bay Mills, Michigan, and her original home of Wikwemikong. She is reunited with Emile and her son, and many more family, who are embracing her and welcoming her to the Spirit world.
