DIXON, Ida (nee Rose) - Ida passed away peacefully with her daughter Janet at her side, at Mapleview Extended Care on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her loving husband of 65 yrs, John (2009), and her infant son, Thomas John (1946). Beloved and cherished mother of Janet Wardlaw (Brian) and Nancy McCrea (Bob). Sweetest Gram to Faith Panek (Brian), Chris McCrea (Jennifer) and Craig McCrea (Kristin). Special Gramma Ida to Clint Wardlaw (Trish), Kelly Jackson (Harvey), and Greg Wardlaw (Charles-Anne). Great Gram (GGMa) to Matthew, Kennedy, Riley, Tyler, Deryl, Sarah, John, Katie, Tashina, Stacy, Derek, Ashlyn, Jordan and Jenna-Rae. Great, Great Grandmother to 7. Predeceased by her siblings, Ivy Frolick, Horace Rose, Cecil Rose, Winifred Marshall, Ruth Stewart and Ed Rose. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews who held Ida dearly in their hearts. Ida was the sweetest and most loving woman. She was gentle and kind, and left a lasting impression on those she met over the years. She had a love of baking and gardening, and the patience she put into those hobbies was truly remarkable. She would always wave and blow a kiss and tell us to “be careful”, when saying goodbye. Now it’s our turn to blow her a kiss and send her to the loving arms of the Lord and her husband John, who will be waiting for her to dance together once again. Rest In Peace Mom/Gram. We love you and we will “be careful”…Friends may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 9:30 -11:30 am.
