Deloris Evelyn Caughill

CAUGHILL, Deloris Evelyn (Murray) – In peace and surrounded with love on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Mom was born in Sault Ste. Marie in 1924 to Donald and Myrtle (Smith) and with the exception of 10 happy years on St. Joseph Island with her beloved husband Norman, the Sault has always been her home. Since dad’s passing in 1980, mom has provided family leadership with integrity and dignity, reminding us of our roots and experiences, the value of friends and to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We especially remember and cherish her humour, found in almost anything she or we did including through her 18 months at Maple View – Lake Superior. Deloris is survived by her sister Marlene Trussler (David); her four children: Bruce (Marcia), Rod (Susan), Neil (Teresa) and Catherine MacNally (Ralph). Deloris was predeceased by siblings: Myrtle Danko, (late Martin), Daniel Murray (late Audrey) and Shiela Murray. Mom will always be Grandma D to: Adam (Stephanie), Amy See (Darrell), Sara, Tyler (Monica), Jeff (Amber), Kerri Lee Turcotte (Phil), Andrea Kattlus (Scott), Lisa, Graeme, and Lucas MacNally and to 11 great-grandchildren. Deloris will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Deloris was a proud member of many clubs and organizations such as Rebekah Lodge, Central United Church (UCW) and 4-H Club. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 12 to 2:30 pm. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice are greatly appreciated.
