Patricia Jane Minion

It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of our Mom aged 90. Mourning her passing are her children Stephanie Minion, Vivien Robb (Ted), Dorothy McDonell (Wayne), Lloyd Minion (Cheryl) and Robert Minion. Grandchildren, Sherry McDonell, Jennifer Arjes (Jonas), Adrienne Robb (Morgan), Tyrel McDonell, Laura Neufeld, Erin Chary (Francis), Colin Macdonell (Sarah), Kelly Benson (Conan) and Andrew Minion, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Stephen and daughter Finola Macdonell (Laurie) and son in-law Alfred Christensen, her parents and 8 siblings. Mom was born on a small farm called Barney outside of Rathdowney Ireland in 1931. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and two small daughters. The journey was tough for Mom as Finola was on the way. They finally landed in Saskatoon on May 1, 1954. The first years in Canada were a financial struggle for our parents while also missing home and family. Mom was a homemaker until her youngest, Robert went to school. She then entered the workforce working for 23 years at Saskatoon City Hospital. On retirement, Mom and Dad travelled and enjoyed a quiet life. Mom enjoyed working in her garden, reading, visiting with family, and watching British TV. She is remembered for her quick wit, instant feedback telling you exactly what she was thinking, dedication to her family and making the best apple pies and scones. She will be greatly missed.
