It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Marion Resch, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the age of 77. Marion was born in Prince Rupert, BC to Peter and Anne (nee Martin) Hoffart on May 31, 1943. They moved to Regina, SK when she was 2 years old. She graduated from the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina with a nursing degree in 1964. Marion went on to work in the delivery suite at the Regina General Hospital, and then at the University Hospital in Saskatoon while Alex was attending university. On October 17, 1964 Marion married her high school sweetheart Alex Resch, and together had 2 children. In 1975 the family moved to Saskatoon. Marion was a lady of many talents, and once her children attended school, she along with her friend opened a craft shop, where she taught classes for painting, flower arranging, macramé, knitting, etc. You name it, she could do it. In 1997 Marion returned to her roots in health care, and worked for Home Care until 2007 when she and Alex started going to Arizona for the winters. Marion was a woman of great faith and was very active in the church as chairperson of parish council for two terms. Marion loved baking and cooking for her family, preparing a big meal every Sunday. She enjoyed all forms of dancing, being in her flower garden and nurturing her houseful of plants, which always seemed to thrive under her care. Knitting and crocheting were two of her favourite pastimes, donating most of what she made. Spending time with her grandchildren was of utmost importance to her, as she rarely missed a ballgame, Christmas concert, graduation, birthday party, etc. and would not let more than a few weeks go by without seeing them. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alex; son Michael (Tamara), grandsons Brayden and Brett Resch; daughter Karen (Guy), grandchildren Ashley, Michael and Tyler Thevenot; brothers Jack (Mary) Hoffart, Melvin Hoffart, Dean Hoffart and sister Maureen Hoffart. Marion was predeceased by her parents Peter and Anne Hoffart. A special thank-you to all the staff at Preston Park II, Spruce Home Special Care Home in Dalmeny and St. Ann’s Home in Saskatoon. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 with live-streaming available at: www.stphilipneriparish.ca In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan (1405 Faulkner Cres, Saskatoon, SK S7L 3R5). Arrangements in care of Aimé Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
