Lucille Elizabeth Decorby

September 20, 1936 – October 9, 2024

Lucille was born on September 20, 1936, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Reles) Sauser. She was the middle child in a family of five. She attended school at Lisgard before starting work as a telephone operator in Churchbridge where she met the love of her life. On April 27, 1959, Lucille married Francis DeCorby from Lebret, SK and resided in Churchbridge, SK until 1961 before making the move to Rose Valley. Lucille moved into Saskatoon in 2013 to be closer to her children after Francis passed in 2009.

Francis and Lucille raised six children in Rose Valley: Kim (Allison Kanak), Delmar (Karen Kvemshagen), Maury (Gail Schemenauer), Lisa (Blain Macknak), Ian (Lisa Puetz) and Nicole (Scott Hubbs). They are also blessed with sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: Adrian (Jana), Aaron (Chels), Kristin (Tynan Smysniuk), Kayla (Trevor Zurowski), Kevin (Steph), Merek, Renee, Colton, Morgan, Ashton, Rayah, Abby, Emma, Brayden, Logan and Corbin.

Lucille enjoyed a full and active life filled with sports, whether watching or playing, she loved it all. She especially loved skating, curling, hockey and baseball. She also enjoyed all card games, the outdoors, music and crocheting. There was nothing Lucille enjoyed more than visiting with her friend and family. After her move to the city, we started to notice she was suffering from the effects of Alzheimer’s, and over the next eleven years the disease progressed, eventually succumbing to it.

Lucille was predeceased by her husband Francis, and his parents Emile and Margaret, her parents, her brother Tony and sister-in-law Mae and her sister Marion and brother-in-law Maurice. Her brother and sister-in-laws Raphael and Shirely, brother-in-law Aloysius, brothers-in-law Ronnie and Duane, brother and sister-in-law Aubrey and Hazel, brother-in-law Keith and Joe, and her nephews, Gerard Beston, Danny DeCorby and Kevin Mark. Left to remember Lucille are her children, their spouses and all the grandkids and great-grandkids. She is also survived by her siblings, Jack and Kristin Sauser and Angela and Willie Mark; Francis’ siblings Lucille Bitz, Gloria DeCorby, Kevin and Ruth DeCorby, Jeannette DeCorby, Shirley DeCorby, Ellis, Gerry and Karen DeCorby and Marg and Richard Beston along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and lifelong friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Lucille on the weekend of June 7/8 in 2025 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lebret, SK. After the service both Lucille and Francis will be interred in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery near Francis’ family. Arrangements are in care of Aime Laventure.
