Louis Joseph Paquette

Born in Bonnyville, Alberta to Lester and Exilda. Lou was anything but a simple man. He worked hard, played hard but loved harder. Lou started working at the young age of 15 and continued to work many different jobs until opening Saskatoon Truck Center where he officially retired on Dec 4, 2024. During his working years, he built more than just a company; he built friendships, he built a community, he built a home.

The Truck Center was more than just a place of work for Lou. He was the first to arrive every morning and the last one to leave at night. It was his labour of love. In more recent years, he referred to himself as “The Lot Boy” or “The Gopher”, never taking credit for the legacy he built.

Lou leaves behind his Son Jaden (Andrea) Paquette, Daughter Haleigh Paquette (Rylan Meginbir), Son Mike (Samantha) Paquette, Son Bill (Daisy) Paquette, Sisters Jeanine (Ping) Lau, and Ginette Paquette, and his partner Jerilynn Hamm. Grandchildren Boston, Maelle, Rhys, Noa, Billy, Bella, Nick and Katie. Along with many other nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Louis was predeceased by his Mother and Father.

Lou was an active role model in the community. He never had the typical upbringing and tried to give back in every way that he could. He loved to help take care of others and treated everyone as though they were his family. "They are all our kids" is something he would often say. We ask that in Lieu if flowers, please donate to EGADZ in honor of his memory.

On behalf of Lou, we would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital Dialysis Unit – because of everyone there, we had 4 more great years with him. He was quite fond of his friends he made during his time spent there and appreciated all the care he was given by the nursing staff. To Lou, you were like family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michaels Parish on Friday, December 13th at 1:00pm.
