Lindsay is survived by his children Keegan and Kylee, mother of his children Jenn Hannotte, mother Janey Wake-Prickett, father Jack Klassen (Gwen), sister Brooke Haskins (Hunter) and her son Finn, brother Landon Klassen (Leslie) and his son Brooks, sister Mavis Cross and her children Haley and Joel, sister Michelle Gowans and her daughter Breagha, his special friends Nadine Graham and Carol Fehr, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who he also cherished. Lindsay was predeceased by step-father Don Prickett and his grandparents.
Lindsay was born on September 19, 1978, in Saskatoon and moved to the farm near Aberdeen shortly after. He attended Aberdeen school and trained to become an agriculture automotive technician at SIAST (now Saskatchewan Polytechnic).
Growing up, Lindsay had a gift for speed and excelled at hockey, track and field, and football. He loved his Nintendo, WWF wrestling, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and his Detroit Redwings. He loved being active in the great outdoors, which included farming, making rafts in the flooded ditches with his little sister Brooke, and taking his little brother Landon to Silverwood golf course.
His love for the outdoors continued and permeated everything Lindsay did. Fly-in fishing trips to Larocque Lake, hunting, camping, frying up walleye and sausage, and golfing at his beloved Lobstick tournament where he made championship flight multiple times. He also loved working with his hands, finding anything he could fix, and most recently, his passion for music bloomed into a gift for playing guitar.
Most important, Keegan and Kyree were the apple of his eye, and Lindsay’s greatest joy was passing on all of his favourite things to them. Skating, snowmobiling, boating, fishing, water sliding, music, and golf, just to name a few.
Lindsay will be remembered as a passionate father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend, and we can never forget his sense of humour, his infectious laugh, his fierce competitiveness, and his enthusiasm for life. If he was at your wedding or in your kitchen, you were treated to his famous tea-towel chicken, and his big smile that went with it.
We will miss Lindsay and he will remain in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lindsay on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63, at 1:00 p.m. (606 Spadina Crescent West, Saskatoon, SK).
