It is with great sadness we announce Li Hui Tang has passed away on February 5, 2021 at the age of 52 after a four-year battle with cancer. Li Hui was born June 1, 1968 in Changsha, China. There, she received her Bachelor of Fine Art at Hunan Normal University in 1990 and became an art instructor at the Wuhan School for the Deaf and Mute after. In 1996, she followed her husband across the world to Florida with their son and moved to Saskatoon in 1999. Always teaching art lessons part-time, she studied to improve her English, went back to college, and found her way working as a creative artist for the Saskatoon StarPheonix from 2003 to 2016. In mid-2016, she took a leap of faith and decided to take her passion for teaching art full time, starting up Tang's Studio where she taught and mentored many of her beloved students. Li Hui is survived by her husband, Xian Zong Shi, son, Ji Shi, parents, Ben Jia Tang and Ying Lian He, sister and brother, Li Juan Tang (Quan Sun) and Hong Yue Tang (Qian Zheng), and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Li Hui will be fondly remembered by her friends, family, and students. She was a loving mother and wife, and a proud teacher. She left too soon – we will miss her dearly. A Public Viewing will be held by invitation only from the family. The Interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens the following week. A virtual service will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of Ashley Knash – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
