Elsie passed away Sunday October 30, 2022, peacefully in her sleep at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Milton 7-1/2 months earlier and previously, parents Alfred and Elizabeth and brother Bruno. Elsie is survived by her sister Ella, her son Keith (Vivian) and daughter Donna, her grandson Daniel (Sheena), her granddaughter Jaime, her great grandsons Connor, Isaac and Riley, her great granddaughters Evey and Madison. Elsie’s first love was her husband and family. Elsie and Milt enjoyed visiting family in the surrounding provinces and traveling BC in the summers with their daughter Donna. Elsie grew up in and around Churchbridge, was born on a farm nearby and attended Landshut School 3 miles away with 60 kids and one teacher for grades 1 - 8. Living with her grandparents in Churchbridge during the winters, grades 9 – 12 were in a 3-room school there. Elsie met Milton in 1945, and they started their friendship. During high school, Elsie’s summer passions were pitching soft ball and track and field high jumping. During the winters she lived for curling. Many teams would be short a curler for their games and would call on Elsie to “sub” in for them, so she got plenty of ice time. After finishing grade 12, Elsie moved to Winnipeg to attend Success Business College. Elsie and Milt started their married life in Melville in 1952, moved to Kelliher in 1955, and then on to Saskatoon in late 1955. In 1959 Elsie and Milt build their own home on Cairns Ave in Saskatoon, which was to be the first of many. Elsie was blessed with a son (Keith 1954) and a daughter (Donna 1958). The family moved into the basement while completing the main floor bungalow interior and exterior. Elsie held the pieces and Milt nailed them together. In 1977, Elsie and Milt moved to Regina until 1983, when they returned to Saskatoon. They then attended Lawson Heights Alliance Church. In 1994, Elsie and Milt transferred over to Circle Drive Alliance Church. Elsie and Milt were active in the Alliance church as greeters for many years and especially enjoyed interacting with the children as they arrived with their parents. Elsie and Milt moved to Circle Drive Place on August 11, 1999, and never left. Elsie served on the Resident’s council for a few years. Our family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or The Canadian Cancer Society in Elsie Paget’s name. A Celebration of Elsie’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive).
