It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Dixie-Lynn Anton (née Hammill), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is predeceased by her parents John “Jack” Hammill and Enid Hammill (née Dixon), sons Blair Anton and Evan Anton as well as grandson Ethan. She is survived by her husband Roland John Anton, daughter Darcey Anton, and two sons, Curtis Anton and Adam Anton (Kim Rashley-Anton) as well as grand-daughter Cristina (Brady), and grandsons Tanner (Ashley), Bryn and Griffin as well as great-grand-daughters Natalia and Azalea with one more great-grandchild on the way. Former daughters in law officially, but true daughters in spirit, Sherry (Darren) and Lori, mourn as well.
Dixie was best known for her work helping John, her husband of over 60 years, run McQuarrie’s Tea & Coffee Merchants. Many in the Broadway community will remember her warm smile and amazing ability to remember regular customers’ orders. They built and nurtured their business, creating a legacy to pass on. One of the last things Dixie expressed was how rich she felt with her loving family.
The family wishes to thank the many health-care professionals who helped Dixie, especially in her last years of life.
As Dixie wished, there will be no public memorial. Anyone wishing to pay their respects to the family may do so through the virtual memorial or by visiting the store to share memories. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favourite charity.
