Robert C. Wagner was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He retired after 37 years of working for Verizon. He passed away unexpectedly Saturday September 23, 2023 at age 75 with his wife by his side.
Born July 26, 1948 in Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and enlisted in the Marine Corp. He proudly served his country in Vietnam where he received various medals and commendations. He moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1979 where he raised his daughters Kelly and Brigette. He found great joy in traveling, camping, distance running, spending time outdoors, and supporting and attending his granddaughters’ academic/athletic events, and extracurricular activities. He spent countless days with his wife at their property in North Florida where they embraced spending time in the country and walking along the Suwannee River. He loved watching Florida State football and his Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Camille Wagner, his sister Dottie (Russ) Luebbers, his two daughters Kelly (Jamie) Driggers, Brigette (Bryan) Wells, and his two granddaughters Aubrey and Kaylee Driggers. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Mabel Wagner and his sister Judy Warren.
He will be laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241, with military honors on October 6, 2023 at 9:30AM.
