She was predeceased by her parents, Rose and John Zelinsky, her sisters, Nannine Dubinsky and Shirley Wishnew, and her niece Heidi Wishnew.
She met her husband, Arnold Schwartz, when they were in eighth grade in Manchester, NH, and they enjoyed 69 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters Jody (David) Jordan, Marcy (David) Rosenzweig, her grandchildren Daniel (Lauren Woodard) Jordan, Zachary (Sarah) Jordan, Benjamin (Samantha) Rosenzweig, Adam Rosenzweig and Lindsay Rasso, and three great grandchildren, Jacob Jordan, Maggie Jordan, and Sloane Rosenzweig. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, Karen Dubinsky and Gary (Cheryl) Dubinsky, and nieces, Judy, Miriam and Jane.
Rhoda became a teacher later in life and gained the respect and admiration of her eighth-grade students and colleagues. Upon retirement, she and Arnold moved to Pinehurst, NC, where she enjoyed a busy social life playing golf, bridge, and hosting her many friends for dinner parties and brunches. Her loyalty, good-hearted nature, and her coffee cakes endeared her to all, and she maintained many lifelong friends.
Above all, Rhoda cherished her family and took an active interest in their lives. She will be forever missed and remembered.
