Milton E. Harr was a great man and a humanist, much appreciated particularly in Switzerland, at the EPFL (Federal Institute of Technology). A colleague of my father, Édouard Recordon, he was one of my family's best friends, as was his wife, Florence. He taught me a lot about science and life, and we often laughed together, as he had a great sense of humor. I have fond memories of him.

Dr. Harr took me through a turning point in my life, guiding my PhD studies, which took me on my journey from design engineering to university professor and administrator.
My favorite quote was "to teach, you must entertain," and I did my best to carry that on. Learning was reinforced through his most interesting digressions in class. 
My greatest and most influential professor ever. May his memory be a blessing.

Milton was s true scholar of the first order. He and Florence were dear friends whose company we enjoyed.  They enriched our lives and the lives of countless others.
