Katheryn Joann Keating, 91, died peacefully on December 22, 2024 in Sarasota, FL after a lengthy illness. Born July 29, 1933, in Ottumwa, IA. Joann was the daughter of Howard and Ethel (Hupton) Humphrey.
She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Keating, Jr. on May 11, 1957 in Des Moines, IA.
An avid reader, Joann worked as a secretary for IBM after graduating from high school. While living in Wheaton, IL, she did secretarial work for various missionary organizations, and when the couple moved to Sarasota in 1995, Joann volunteered at the Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center.
She was a member of Covenant Life Church in Sarasota.
Joann is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Thomas; children, AnaLouise Keating (Eddy Lynton), Daniel Keating (Mary), Jane Vraspier (Rick); 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; her sister, Phyllis Livingston, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
