Judith Renee Cohen, 72, Sarasota, died June 9, 2021. She was born November 10, 1948, in Chicago, IL. She has been a Florida resident for 41 years since moving here in 1980 with her late husband Barry. Judith was a CMA and office manager for a doctor’s office in Venice, and she was a former, long time member of Temple Beth Sholom in Sarasota. Judith also served as a past Sisterhood President at the temple. Judith was predeceased by her husband, Barry Cohen, and father, Albert Benain. Survivors include her mother, Natalie Benain-Cohen; daughters, Sherri Braunstein (Jerry), Stefanie Cohen (Craig) and Allison Cohen; brother, Charles Benain; sister, Sandra Benain-Schnurlein; grandchildren, Savannah Cohen, Justin Cohen, Daniel Braunstein, Brandon Cohen and Joshua Braunstein. Judith was also a great and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota. Burial will follow at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery. Family will observe Shiva beginning sundown on Saturday through Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chabad of Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch or by planting a tree in Judith’s memory.
