Joel was born March 2, 1951 in Erie, PA, to Salvatore & Constance Hemme Martucci. He graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1969, University of Florida-Gainesville with a BS in Pharmacy in 1975, and Gannon University with an MBA in 1989. He was instrumental in implementing one of the first computerized poison control systems in the US, as well as the third robotic dose filling units in the US.
Joel had a passion for woodworking & cabinet making; enjoyed going to antique car shows with his 1964 Ford Fairlane Sport Coupe (which he completely restored); and enjoyed early morning beach metal detecting on Siesta Key. He was an avid bicycle rider, and enjoyed wreck SCUBA diving & snorkeling. He loved to play his guitar, dabbled in photography, and loved to spend time with his family, friends, his two cats, and his bird.
Joel was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Lyle Martucci.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Martucci (with whom he celebrated a wedding anniversary of October 22, 1983); children, Maia Martucci of Eugene, OR & Ian Martucci of Osprey, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
