She was born in Hoboken, NJ, the youngest of seven children.
She was an active member of the Y.M.C.A. and volunteered at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Heart Unit.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Arlene (Herky) Lafley of Punta Gorda; her son, Brian (Anna) DeFerrari of Port Charlotte; three grandchildren, Lisa (fiance Nick Stelmak) Lafley, Kevin (Melissa) Lafley, Cory DeFerrari and great granddaughter, Malea Lafley.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Louis in 1995 and granddaughter, Julia Catherine DeFerrari in 2011.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, Sarasota.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:00am at St. Martha's Catholic Church, Sarasota with entombment following at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
